Another Random 8 Meme

Posted by Sue on September 25, 2007 in Self-exploration, Tagged |

This time I got tagged by Nikki. She's got a new blog about HER little red head and since we have that in common, we've created a blog-bond. Although I've done this one before, I'll try to think of new answers…

The rules:
1. Let others know who tagged you.
2. Players start with 8 random facts about themselves.
3. Those who are tagged should post these rules and their 8 random facts.
4. Players should tag 8 other people and notify them they have been tagged.

Right, here we go!

1.I never sneeze less than 3 times in a row, usually more, and always after a choking episode.

2.I like to cook, love to eat, and hate to clean up.

3.I can't eat fennel seeds. You never want to give me Italian sausage with fennel seeds. You don't want to give me a pizza that has Italian sausage. It isn't pretty. Trust me.

4.There have been two times in my life I have blacked out from alcohol. The first time my memory gradually came back in flashbacks. The second time it never did come back. Luckily, I was with my husband and he took care of me and told me exactly what happened. It freaks me out to this day that I can't remember it. After that it scared me so bad I rarely drink now and if I do, never to excess.

5.I'm a horrible friend in real life. I'm much better with animals.

6.I was a bad mother. I'm much better now.

7.I've never eaten sushi, but love seafood. I think I would like it.

8.I bite my nails so badly that I've worn fake ones for 25 years.

Wow! I feel purged!

Your turn! I know these go around a lot, so not sure who has and who hasn't done it. If you want to, let us know you will… otherwise I won't bug you to do it.

so if you wear fake nails…how do you bite them? (asking as a fellow nail biter)

    Hello Sue,
I wrote a haiku for you about sneezing:

    Walking through the rain
    choking and sneezing three times
    for a good reason

  • Jan says:

    I’m a three-time-sneezer, too. 🙂

  • Michael says:

Thelma alert! Thelma alert! Sue has been caught in a lie! I think she may have stole number five. I have seen those words on the internet:
    http://isitnormal.com/story/16053/

    “5.I’m a horrible friend”

Sue may be better with animals, but I happen to know first hand that she is a good friend.

Oh, and I am a one time sneezer, but that one sneeze can be heard in the next county. Vavoom comes to mind when I cut loose.

  • Becky says:

I love seafood but I hate sushi (or those with the raw fish in their rolls). I can’t stand the texture or the taste.

  • Wayne says:

I was just wondering today – can people sneeze in their sleep? Does a sneeze automatically mean someone is awake?

    It’s important, really. 🙂

  • kimmyk says:

I am so not a good friend in real life. I much rather prefer hanging out with my family and my dogs than anyone else. Except you guys here. I heart you guys.

I hate cleaning up after I cook. I think that should be a law…the cooker does not clean. You with me?

  • nickel1942 says:

Well, now I know why that pizza with Italian sausage hurt me so. Thanks.

  • katie says:

i did this about a month ago myself. crazy enough, i listed my big black out as one of my random facts too. only i ended up in ICU in an alcohol induced coma for 2 days. my BAL was almost.4 Crazy, no? i thank God i survived it. i was 18 at the time and a freshman in college. scared me big time.

anyways, enjoyed reading your random things! have a good one!

  • Chuck says:

So….what are you choking on when you sneeze? Mmmmm…sushi…

  • gorillabuns says:

remind me to NOT give you my famous lasagne recipe.

    full of fennel seeds.

  • Michael says:

If your really like italian sausages, you can make your own, only replace fennel with star anise or Ouzo.

I recommend you look for sausages from the Northern Italy regions like Abruzzo; senza finocchio, Canullis, or if you like it hot, Calabria style. I can get you recipes if you like.

No Absinthe for you Sue, but Ouzo is ok, I recently learned Ouzo is just Absinthe without the fennel or wormwood but add a little coriander, clove and cinnamon, and presto! you have flavored ethyl alchohol.

  • Nikki says:

    Yay! You did it!
Sorry it’s taken so long to get here. I have been rather absent from the world outside blogger. Which strangely enough, my uni lets me access when I have no money on my account…!?
Anyway. Good answers. Sorry for tagging you. I now realise how much people hate memes. New blogger mistake. xoxox
